10. Individual Phase

10.1. Draft your Idea

Our project concludes with an individual phase allowing you to follow up on your own ideas. Examples could include further parallelization and optimization of your solver, verification and validation, or advanced numerical techniques such as adaptivity or the use of unstructured meshes. Initially, we’ll just brainstorm ideas and formulate a short sketch containing our most promising idea.

Tasks

  1. Write a sketch of your idea for the individual phase. The sketch should be at least half a page in length. Think about risks and outcomes!

  2. Individual meeting to discuss your group’s draft will be held during the lecture.

10.2. Propose

As part of the hot phase, each group prepares a detailed project proposal for their final project which includes goals, important milestones and work packages. At the next meeting, each group presents their plan.

Tasks

  1. Write a detailed project plan of at least two pages. Include a description of goals, milestones and work packages. Include a time schedule!
